Saturday, December 14, Aweta, pioneer in sorting and packaging machines, opened its new head office in Pijnacker-Nootdorp under the watchful eye of more than 500 guests. A spectacular opening show by illusionist Alfredo Lorenzo was followed by a personal speech by CEO Otto Vink in which innovations, projects, clients, employees and family members were put in the spotlight.
Official opening: old and new connected
Old and new were linked on this afternoon. The 'oldest' employee and the most recent employee performed the official opening together. The first cucumber grading machine from 1966 was displayed, as well as this year's most recent innovation: the Cupsizer XL for pears. There was a tribute to the company’s late founder A.W. Tas, who developed his first sorting machine in a pig barn in Nootdorp in 1966. And of course there was a fascinating look at the most innovative sorting technologies that Aweta has developed over the years.
Global player in sorting machines
Today Aweta is market leader in sorting technology with a worldwide network of dealers, service organisations and customers. Its new head office symbolises the kick-start of a new era for this wonderfully innovative company.
